Magali Designs is the original hip belt bag, launched in 2007 and relaunched in 2021. We consider ourselves trailblazers – years ahead of the belt bag trend. Magali was loved by top boutiques such as Fred Segal, LF and Foley & Corinna from Los Angeles to New York City. Celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Julia Roberts, Kim Kardashian, and Taryn Manning, to name a few, were seen wearing our bags. Now in 2021….Magali is back for a 2.0 relaunch! With all new styles that are already loved by influencers such as Jami Alix, Kayla Smith, and Caitlin Sauer, we are happy to be back! Our new styles are all designed to be worn multiple ways for the on-the-go lifestyle.

Maggie Lee Baker - Founder and Designer
California native Maggie Lee Baker was born a designer and entrepreneur. She has a passion for Cali-lifestyle, and has lived in many cities including Sacramento, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Santa Barbara until finally settling in to her current home of Los Angeles. At the age of seven while most kids were selling lemonade, Maggie was slinging hand made crafts. As a pre-teen she got her start designing by cutting up her mom's favorite bathing suit to "modernize" the style. Even though she was grounded for a week, she received a ton of compliments on the redesigned suit. While in college in Santa Barbara, she was seeking a cool belt bag for her travels to Europe, but couldn't find one. After College she moved to LA to work in the entertainment industry. During her time working for a movie studio in 2007, Maggie began designing and selling jewelry at trunk shows and boutiques. Still on the search for the perfect belt bag, Maggie decided to design one herself and thus Magali Designs 1.0 was born. Loved by celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Julia Roberts and Kim Kardashian to name a few and in top boutiques such as Fred Segal and LF, Magali was on it's way to fame. The recession however hit hard and Magali closed for 10 years. Still passionate about the brand and given how on-trend belt bags are now, Maggie decided to relaunch Magali 2.0 in 2020 with an eye toward the future and a philanthropic focus. Magali is better than ever with a new look and vibe but still the same classic style.

Made with true craftsmanship and pride in a small local factory near downtown Los Angeles by our expert leather craftsman, Cesar, and his team.
